Well, I'm overwhelmed with all the RSS feeds- so much wonderful information, but too little time to read them all. I did find some fantastic feeds from outstanding librarians and I'm looking forward to surrounding myself with their knowledge. I'm sure I'll learn to skim and look for the information I need, but right now I'm exhausted.

I've been hearing about RSS feeds and now I know what all the excitement is about. I subscribed to 5 library blogs- Librarian Philosopher, Top Shelf, 2 Cents Worth, Kathy Schrock's KoffeeKlatch, and Joyce Valenza's NeverEndingStuff. I'm looking forward to keeping current on the items that are noteworthy to them.

I am a new library coordinator and these library feeds will keep me current on new issues and new technologies. I, in turn, can share them with my librarians through my public page.

I can see the value of RSS feeds in the library, by linking our library resources directly to our students' and/or teachers' web pages.

I experimented with embedding a slide show of our trip to Great Britain. This is getting cooler by the minute. Unfortunately, I'm so excited with learning all these new things about Web 2.0 technology, that I'm not getting any sleep.

I've been using Picasa for years but never experimented with the Web Album. How fun. I've gathered a few of our pictures from our trip to England and have posted them here for others to see. It was a wonderful trip. http://picasaweb.google.com/mlsaucier/OurTripToGreatBritain

I also started a Google calendar. I'm starting a new job as a Library Coordinator and this will be a great tool to keep track of all my appointments with librarians and administrators.

I can also see the value of Google Docs in my new position as I share documents with the librarians and get their input.

It is incredible the things I can create with all the Flickr toys. I loved the posters, magazine covers, and trading cards. I've created a trading card of my library staff and hopefully, I can get it posted on my blog. Here goes.

I've heard about Flickr but never really knew what it was. Wow! what a great resource for uploading and sharing photos . Since it's summer and that makes me think of flowers and vacations , I chose my favorite flowers, geraniums and Italy because that is where my son is spending a summer semester abroad. I found this photo of gerainums beside an open door in Italy. Wish I were there, but isn't it great we can enjoy it through photos.

Yea! I must be doing something right because my blog was linked on the Library2Play Blog page. This is getting fun.

Thing 3

Well, I've already faced difficulty with designing my avator, but I persisted and didn't give up. I never could get the whole 50's outfit to look like the example, but I am pleased with my final appearance. I had to go back and forth several times before I understood how to export my avator to my blog but I persisted and I somehow figured it out. This really is fun and I can see how it can be addicting.

The 7 1/2 Habits of Learning were right on. It's easy for me to create goals for myself. Completing them by not getting discouraged when I confront difficulties is my major challenge. So, my goal is to complete these 23 tasks, my task will be to finish it successfully.

Thing 1

I'm off on a new adventure-it's kinda scary because I'm treading new waters and charting new paths, but I'm excited. I can't wait to see where I end up after Thing #23.

Web 2.0

I'm off on a new journey. I've been hearing about the new Web 2.0, seen lots of examples of it, and have even attended a conference meeting about it, but have never attempted it. This is my first attempt. I'm very unsure of myself, like I've just jumped off the diving board into the deep water, but I'm treading water just as fast as I can to learn these new technologies.
